onecranes has launched a new application tool that can be accessed

via a desktop computer, tablet or smart phone, allowing convenient use of the tool from any location. Crane Advisor is a user-friendly, icon-driven platform designed to help customers narrow down potential lifting equipment options, according to their specific material handling needs. Users are prompted to input parameters, including industry type, capacity, span length and duty class. The system can be accessed at http://craneadvisor.konecranes.com. Based on the information supplied, the

Crane Advisor software generates an immediate response, providing a personalised crane recommendation, tailored to the user’s requirements. Crane Advisor has been introduced successfully in North America and is now launched in the UK, as well as all worldwide locations in which the company operates. On receipt of the recommendation,

customers can familiarise themselves with the product offering to help and support discussions with a Konecranes sales representative. The system saves the customer valuable time in initial research and provides sufficient information for a preliminary project analysis, before committing further time and resources to the details of the specific material handling solution. Jari Myyryläinen, vice president,

Konecranes Industrial Applications, says: “As a leader in the overhead crane industry, Konecranes invests in R&D to bring new technologies and innovation to the market. Crane Advisor is a service that will revolutionise the way of purchasing overhead cranes. The tool offers the customer valuable information on the most suitable material handling equipment, according to their needs.” Konecranes is a world-leading group of

Lifting Businesses, with 17,000 employees at 600 locations in 50 countries. The company serves a broad variety of business sectors, including industrial,

handling operators with easy access to Konecranes’ standard range of industrial cranes, which includes models with SWLs of up to 80 tons and beyond, and spans of up to 30m and longer. To determine the most appropriate lifting solution, the application also prompts the user to input the required duty class, through a range of class M3 (standby or infrequent use) to class M8 (continuous and severe service). The company’s overhead cranes are

complemented by a comprehensive range of crane technology options, accessories and services, as well as automation options, helping material handling equipment to work harder and smarter.

CXT WIRE ROPE HOISTS Konecranes’ state-of-the-art CXT wire rope hoists are ideal in virtually any industrial environment, which requires a lifting capacity of up to 80 tons. The inherent versatility of the CXT models mean that they are suitable for a variety of applications, from basic lifting and moving to complex material handling processes. High performance brakes, durable wire ropes and remote operation all contribute to a safer working environment. Smart features, such as sway control and target positioning, give total control over material handling, reduce load cycle times and extend the

crane’s lifetime. Adaptive speed range also provides optimum control of load movement, improving productivity.

CLX ELECTRIC CHAIN HOISTS Konecranes’ CLX electric chain hoists have been designed to speed up work cycles, enhance safety and extend service life. CLX models are versatile and durable, making them ideal for demanding workstation applications. The CLX range has models with lifting capacities of up to five tons. The chain hoist design features a robust aluminium frame, a maintenance- free gearbox and a patented five-tooth chain sprocket with intermediate teeth, facilitating quiet operation and longer chain life. Using oil lubrication, the gearbox lowers operating temperature, which increases power; the 6:1 speed ratio enables fast and precise movement, with an improvement in work cycles.

AFTER SALES SERVICE The Konecranes’ product range is supported by a national after sales network, backed by its global resources, providing installation, preventative maintenance, repair and spare parts service. The company’s service business is committed to providing customers with maximum availability of equipment and services are available for proprietary lifting gear, as well as the systems of other original equipment manufacturers.
