Come and join the L&D evolution

During the 11 years I’ve worked on the World of Learning portfolio, it has evolved in response to the dynamic environment that Learning and Development operates in. This year’s event will tackle the technological and

generational advances on the horizon. A theme at the heart of the conference is the evolution of L&D’s role. Speakers, including Rafal Szaniawski and Melanie Lepine, will inspire their audiences to lead change, not just respond to it. Turn to page 27 for the full conference programme.

L&D has embraced the digital era, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into learning experiences is an exciting one. A number of presentations will

examine AI, and Dr Ben Betts will facilitate a debate, on 16 October, about the pros and cons of AI in learning. Read Ben’s introduction to the debate on page 11.

As well as showcasing more than 100 leading suppliers, the World of Learning

Conference & Exhibition offers over 50 free-to-attend seminars and workshops that cover topics such as: ‘Leadership in a VUCA world’, ‘Designing people-centred learning’, ‘Emotional agility’ and ‘Digital learning transformation’. Also not to be missed is Richard McCann’s keynote, which will take place on day two. Find out more about the free seminars on pages 38-39.

The exhibition offers eight Inspiration Zones, including the Team-Building Zone, the Mental Wellbeing Zone, the Experiential Learning Zone and the new International Lounge. This year, the Agility Zone promotes healthy working

practices and ways by which to manage people through the relentless change in agile working environments. These zones are all designed to help you explore the core matters concerning L&D and forge useful contacts and connections.

I am sure you will leave the event full of ideas, and with the contacts, connections and knowledge to support you in your role.
