Bringing L&D to life

This year’s World of Learning is set to be highly interactive and engaging, as learning and development (L&D) innovators, practitioners and thought- leaders come together to share their expertise and insights.

How to deal with change will be at the centre of this year’s conference, as Lorna Leeson

explores the challenges of managing change and explains how to support those responsible for implementing it. There will also be an opportunity to hear from Emily O’Mahony and Barry Sampson on the two things that guarantee a great learning experience through their modern approach to blended learning. To see the full conference programme turn to pages 32 and 33.

A host of free sessions and interactive zones offer visitors a multitude of platforms to facilitate discussion and learning. Among them are the popular Fringe Seminars, Technology Test Drive, and the Experiential Learning Zone. Learning Design Live will also be returning with a seminar programme created specifically for those interested in learning tech design.

In last year’s annual World of Learning survey, nearly two thirds of L&D professionals

revealed their company was not prepared for the apprenticeship levy. Following the levy’s implementation in April, the World of Learning’s Apprenticeship Zone is here to help, covering everything employers need to know. There will be expert apprenticeship providers and trainers offering further advice on how to ensure your company is prepared.

Take advantage of over 40 free seminars, with advice covering everything from boosting employee engagement through video games to e-learning and leading with a mindful focus. Find out more about the free seminars on pages 36 and 37. You will also have the opportunity to uncover the latest L&D solutions for your company from the industry’s leading suppliers.

Finally, look out for the new virtual reality (VR) suite where you can try out the latest technologies and see how you can implement VR into your training programme. With all this and more I hope you make the most of this year’s event and leave feeling motivated and inspired.
