B

y all metrics, the Foodservice Essentials for Effective Design (FEED) Workshop in Nashville this winter was a very successful event. So much so that we will present FEED 2025 in January, next year. Te event is scheduled for January 26-29, 2025 at the Westin San Diego Bayview. Te 2.5 day hands-on workshop

is designed for architects and foodservice professionals looking to level up their skills in managing a foodservice-focused renovation or a new construction project. Led by FCSI mentors and manufacturer sponsors, FEED will take you on a journey through the entire project lifecycle, unraveling the unique complexities of Foodservice Design projects. Te event offers more than 18 hours of intensive content in the

form of presentations from seasoned foodservice consultants, as well as group activities focused on real- world projects. Attendees will gain valuable knowledge and insights that will empower them to collaborate seamlessly with FCSI foodservice consultants on their next facility design project.

Te line-up of mentors is now in place: • Sojo Alex, Envision Strategies • Lenny Condenzio FCSI, Ricca Design Studios

• Christine Guyott FCSI, RDN, Rippe Associates

• Khaled Halabi, Cini-Little International

• Garrett Lennon FCSI, JLR Design Group

FEED 2.0 WORKSHOP TO EXPLORE THE ROLE OF THE CONSULTANT

The FCSI Educational Foundation is organizing a second meeting in 2025 – FEED 2.0, which is designed to help new foodservice design consultants and manufacturers to understand the different roles and responsibilities of foodservice consultants.

This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of the principles and practices involved in the flow, layout and design of foodservice facilities. Participants will learn about the importance of pre-design planning, phases of design and deliverables, design principles, layouts and work centers, RFP process, project management and collaboration with the architecture and project teams.

The FEED 2.0 meeting is scheduled for February 24, 2025 in Atlanta. It will precede the FCSI Symposium prior to the NAFEM Show. So, attendees can participate in FEED, sign up for the FCSI Symposium, then register for NAFEM. It is a great way to access valuable education and industry networking through one trip.

Online registration will open on fcsi.org later in September. Alternatively, check fcsief.org for more details about FEED 2.0.
