Greedy Gordons will also be supporting county events during
April as sponsors of the Woodland Pytchley point to point event taking place on Easter Saturday at Dingley. Richard said: “It’s an event close to my heart and this will be our
third year as sponsors. We are also sponsoring a race in my father’s name as far back as I can remember my father was one of the on-call vets for the day every year for 40 years plus. As children we went every year and were able to go out on the course with him on each race. “Since my father passed I take my mother and said we’ll be
sponsors and that is how it all began. My father’s name in this community is still very recognised and it is great for my mother to go and see everyone and bring back all those great memories.” The Red Lion has also been in the spotlight after recently
welcoming celebrity Jamie Laing during his arduous ultra marathons challenge for Comic Relief, which raised more than £2m. Jamie Laing made a pit stop at T e Red Lion during his bid. T e team at the award-winning pub put on complimentary
refreshments for Jamie and his crew as the Made in Chelsea star and BBC Radio 1 presenter took a well-earned short break during his challenge. T e popular presenter was warmly welcomed at T e Red Lion by
Richard and his team as day two of the run route took him through the county. Jamie ran from London to Salford - a total of 150 miles - for Red
Nose Day, with crowds of fans and well-wishers lining his route to spur him on. Richard said: “We were absolutely delighted to welcome
Jamie to T e Red Lion for a well-deserved break during his epic charity challenge. It was great for everyone to meet him and wish him good luck on the next leg. T e vibe in the room was electric even though at that stage he still had a way to go. We supplied the pit stop on the house to help the fundraising; we also made a Greedy Gordons donation of £250. “It was an honour to have been able to support him and also
to be involved with the Red Nose Day event. Jamie deserved all the support everyone could spare both monetary and in terms of morale. He truly was a kind-hearted, thankful, brave man!” T e Red Lion team provided refreshments including tea, coff ee,
drinks, biscuits and cakes to help fuel Jamie and his team on the fantastic fi tness feat.
