“Rez Dog” Series Stars Visit Lumbee Country
In November, the Lumbee Tribe of N.C. honored two Reservation Dogs stars Sterlin Harjo and Tatanka Means with eagle feathers for their efforts to bring representation of Native People through the FX Series. The show has been ground breaking to change the stereotype of Native people and to allow Natives to tell their own stories. The two stars were UNCP

Harjo and Means also visited the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center for a cultural presentation. They spoke with students and community members about how the Reservation Dogs Series began, their background, their start in media and much more.

In November, the Lumbee Tribe hosted a Lumbee American Indian Heritage event at Givens Performing Arts Center. The event featured cultural history, traditional dancing, storytelling and much more.
