Pupils at Oakhill College in Whalley have been putting their knowledge to the test to secure a place in a science' competition’s final. From more than250teams,


consisting of around 500 pu­ pils, the college’s STEM team have made it through to the final of the inaugural BP ulti­ mate STEM challenge event. The challenge was to de­


sign a hard hat suitable for use in hot climates and the team had to scientifically provide evidence for their final pro­ totype. Sue teams will compete in the final held in March at the


Science Museum, London. During the final event, mem­ bers of the winning teams will have to present their project to a panel of judges as well as the other finalists and answer questions about their designs.
