Twogoalsinthebackofthe net secured Ribblesdale High School's place in the semi-final of the English Schools’ Foot ball Cup.
The Year 10 boys’ football team beatMalet Lambert School2-i in a very close and extremely tensegame.
. , „ . ‘ Starting the game brightly
they were always in control of the first half with Ben Hart ley opening the scoring with
a fantastic strike into the top corner ofthe net. The boys pushed for a sec
ond goal and were unlucky on two occasions not to extend their lead.- Malet Lambert came out
in the second half with a dif ferent attitude and began to press for an equaliser and af ter 65 minutes they equalised taking the game to extra time. With two minutes remain
ing until a penalty shoot out, ..Will Wrathall had to make a one-ori-une save to deny Malet Lambert’s striker a goal, but the follow up was destined for the net until James Geidard
managed to kick the ball off the line full stretch. The ball travelled up to the
other end and Scott Wilson controlled and passed to Josh Tetley who put an inch per fect cross in to Owen Gould to smash in the winning goal with one minute to go. An all-round fantastic
team performance by Will Wrathall, Alex Chambers, James Geidard, Scott Wil son, James Billington, Simon Wharton, Max Cane, James Scorah, Ben Hartley, Elliot Watson, Owen Gould, James Nightingale, Josh Tetley, Ewan Jones and Jack Graham.
