The headteacher at Stony- hurst College, Mr Andrew Johnson, has decided to step down after 10 years. Mr Johnson, who has been in charge of the historic Jesuit school since 2006, will leave attheendofthesummer term next year.

Nominations are up on last year and the competition has been fierce, bringing many new faces and shop fronts to

on the A59 on Saturday. The North West Air Ambulance had been responding to a medical emergency involving an 8o-year-old woman at
just after 1-30 pm. It landed on St Michael and St John’s RC
Primary School’s playing field, but following the decision to takethepatientto hospital by theroadambulance,the
air ambulance then responded to the three-car collision, which happened near to the McDonald’s roundabout on
the AS9 at
around2-iopm.Atotalofseven people,includ
ing the sixmonth-old-baby, were reported injured and a 24-year-old female was subsequently taken to RoyalBlack- bum Hospital by road ambulance. None of the casualties

Van ends up on its roof on busy road
A Volkswagen Caddy van was upturned onto its roof
in a single vehicle accident in Clitheroe Road, Wadding- ton, on Monday morning. The male driver suffered no serious injuries in the crash, which happened just after 8 am near to the entrance to
