Nominations are up on last year and the competition has been fierce, bringing many new faces and shop fronts to

on the A59 on Saturday. The North West Air Ambulance had been responding to a medical emergency involving an 8o-year-old woman at


just after 1-30 pm. It landed on St Michael and St John’s RC


Primary School’s playing field, but following the decision to takethepatientto hospital by theroadambulance,the


air ambulance then responded to the three-car collision, which happened near to the McDonald’s roundabout on


the AS9 at around2-iopm.Atotalofseven people,includ­


ing the sixmonth-old-baby, were reported injured and a 24-year-old female was subsequently taken to RoyalBlack- bum Hospital by road ambulance. None of the casualties
