As you have to sign on at a giv en time, you could be late for an appointment and then giv en a sanction (lose benefit for not complying to the rules). You coujd have child care is sues, children being dropped offrpicked up from school or babies being taken out in bad weather (buses and trains are not easy with a pram) or ifyou have mobility problems. PARKING
Take care over where you park I sympathise with the person who helped someone else, but
had to pay the fine neverthe less fletters, September 18th). I had to pay for the time I parked in Whalley when the
pay machines were out of or der. Their cameras did not showthat! Who has employed this com pany? Howlong does the con- tract run? I certainly do not park there now. I cannot boy cott the pub that the car park belongs to, as I rarely went
there in the first place. 1 park on the street in Whalley.

MP’s action too little too late With another ludicrous plan ning application at West Brad ford in the offing, more resi dents are objecting to greedy, opportunistic developers who have no interest in preserv
ing the Ribble Valley’s rural nature,
I wish West Bradford resi dents luck in their quest to halt this application but fear
theusuallackofsupportfrom the government and Ribble Valley Borough Council means their objections will fall on deaf ears.
It was interesting to read that our MP Nigel Evans intends to present a 900 signature petition against over develop ment, to the House of Com mons, on behalf of Longridge residents. Clitheroe Residents Action Group gathered 2,200
signatures on a petition ob jecting to the unfair distribu tion of housing and the Stand- en Estates application. Nigel Evans did not take our petition
to Westminster. And before he
says we did not ask, it is some- times helpful for those in the know to offer or suggest, after all he is our MP too. At the time of the CRAG peti tion Nigel was Deputy Speaker and required to remain impar tial. So could it be that this po sition prevented him present ing the CRAG petition? If that is the case he has failed

news headlines have centred around the Scottish referen dum and I fear that the rest of the UK, in particular England have been side-lined. With “devolution max” now looking likely for Scotland, it’s time for England to demand more for its 56 million resi dents. The English appetite for change has never been strong er. To feed this hunger, I be lieve that the right of Scottish MPs to vote on English matters should be scrapped. Further more, I want to see a new con stitutional settlement in place, with giving England a fairer dealattheheartofit. This referendum has given the people of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland an appetite for anew constitu tional settlement. I sincerely hope that in this new settle ment, the 86% of the UK popu lation who live in England get a fair deal.

CHATBURN
On the night of May 20th/2ist, 2011, three tractors in my collection were stolen from a farm near Brewood in Staf fordshire. The three were a Mayfield MK12, an Arun May- field 8 and finally the subject of this request for informa tion, the unique Arun Hydro static Model (pictured above). Subsequently, all three were offered for sale at various auto jumbles in the North and North West of England. At a sale near Garstang, Lanca shire on July 11th, 2011, the Arun Hydrostatic Model was sold to unknown buyer for a sum of around £400. Despite extensive enquiries no trace of this Arun Hydrostatic Model tractor has been found. Have you seen it anywhere in your neighbourhood? The model is unique, being a development model. The photos show the main details. It is fitted with a Hydrostatic transmission, twin wheels, fully adjustable handles, tool box bolted horizontally to rear column, Chrome plated adjustment handles for the handle bars and stainless steel nuts and bolts throughout. The engine fitted is a Honda model GX240 of 8 HP bearing the number G004.-122g848.QE The cutter bar unit at the front was missing at the time of the theft, but not the down frame element. The whole machine was in examplary show con dition you can see from the photograph when stolen only havingjust been renovated. If you have seen this machine, please contact Staffordshire Police by calling 101 or quot ing crime reference FZ33885- 20/11 oryou can call me on 01952257816.

Thanksgiving For the harvest thanksgiv

display reminding everyone that many peoples in the world experience famine conditions, and guest speaker Mr Robin Clark, a former local farmer, told howjust a few years ago some local farm ers had to sell their animals because they had no hay and no money to buy fodder which was too expensive due to the poor summer weather. This year the harvest is abundant, but we must not take it for granted. There was a Jacob’s Join .
lunch in the church hall. Thanks are extended to all who donated the produce and ■ tothosewhohelpedwiththe display.
