her life,” said Miss Allan. “She has had trouble

sleeping and has had night mares since this incident.” Miss Gemma Zakrzewski

^°eulBnfrthr^rChO0lP^!BWct' l0Ca,SerViCu NEWS IN BRIEF Taxi driver hurt in attempted robbery

A Clitheroe taxi driver suffered serious facial injuries in a late night attempted robbery. Police are appealing for information about the inci dent, which happened at 11-50 pm on Friday. The taxi driver’s ordeal began when he dropped a fare near Edis- ford Caravan Park. As he was about to leave, he was ap- proached by two men. One of the men leaned through the half-open driver's side window and removed the keys from the ignition. The offender then began punch-

. ing the cabbie’s head, face and shoulders. The victim, who suffered a burst lip and serious facial injuries, managed to remain inside the car, but tooted his horn repeatedly until the fare he had just dropped off heard him and returned to help. He was also left stranded in his car, while the robbers made off with his keys.

Offenders damage cars

Vandals used a sharp instrument to damage the panels of ared Citroen C4 parked in Littlemoor Close, Sabden. The offenders struck the vehicle overnight Saturday in

to Sunday causing an estimated £400 worth of damage. In a separate incident, vandals targeted the bodywork

of a purple Rover City parked in Cunliffe Lane, Wiswell, overnight Sunday into Monday again causing £400

worth of damage. Anyone with information should con tact police on 101.
