School dinner lady Sandra Garner has lost her long flowing locks in aid of two good causes.

Having been pestered by her hairdresser sister to have a

looked worried as she sat in sister Amanda Wilson’s salon, Hair Company in Peel Street, waiting for the scissors. But when the deed was

done, she was pleased with her new pixie look.' “I’ve not had it this short

for about 16 years,” said San dra, who works at Ribblesdale High School, Clitheroe. “Everyone has said they

like it, and some say it makes me look younger.” Sandra’s hair has already gone to the Little Princesses

Trust, which makes real hair wigs for children who have lost their locks because of cancer treatment. She has also raised about

£315 in sponsorship for Mac millan Cancer Care, and any additional donations can be left at Pendle Stitches, Moor Lane, c/o Sandra’s mum Susan Radcliffe.
