Now we’re in Advent, there’s no escaping all things Christ­ mas. Andifyou’re someone who still eqjoys doing their Christ- mas shopping theold fashioned way-inpersonrather than on the internet-there are two events coming up that are sure to put you in festive mood. This evening, from 6 pm onwards, Whalley hosts its an­ nual Pickwick Festival when the main road wiU be closed to traffic for a Dickensian street market. There will be lots of stalls fundraising for various lo­ cal charities, street entertainment, live music dhd even roasted chestnuts.
