Afternoon tea on

When around 90 people are expected to arrive for after noon tea, it poses quite a lo gistical challenge. That was the case when

the-Inner Wheel Club of Ribblesdale held its annual “overseas meeting” at Pend leton Village Hall. But thanks to the organ-'

isers Val Sharp and Carol Cowell, and the support of the club’s other members, all were provided with a se lection of dainty sandwiches and tempting cakes, served on elegant china tea sets. The overseas meeting

raises funds specifically for agood cause which is - as the

■ name suggests - overseas. So before the tasty delights could be sampled; Val Sharp read a report and slides were

of Elizabeth Gomm, who is the volunteer co-ordinator in the UK for Happy House, an orphanage in Kenya. Elizabeth had hoped to

be present herself, but had been called out to Kenya to

help with one of the current projects, which will help to extend the length of time' the Happy House can help; its children.

„ i The Happy House was
