Stella Feehily and director Max Stafford Clark clearly feel passion ately about the subject and I believe that one of the most important functions of dra ma is to make us think about political issues. In the past and today we
can see the powerful effect’ of some plays to change re gimes. However, I felt that this production, at times,
ceased to be a drama and be came some kind of econom ics lecture or party political broadcast, in which the au dience were harangued di rectly about financing an<f°F other contentious issues. I was reminded of the essen tial adage all writing tutors t give you; “Show, don’t tell!” A The set is very effective
