A “POPULAR, caring and intelligent” Clitheroe, teenager has died after be

ing struck by a train. Tributes have been paid to 18-year-old

Lee Bialecki, who was found on the railway line close to Walsden train station near Todmorden, at around 3-20 p-m. last Fri day. Paramedics from the West Yorkshire Ambulance Service attended, but Lee was pronounced dead at the scene- Police have ruled out any suspicious circumstances. ■ Lee, who was a former pupil of St

Michael and St John’s Primary School and St Augustine’s RC High School, was study ing a degree course in computer science at

Manchester Metropolitan University. Described as an “intelligent, bright and

mature teenager”, Lee also attended St Mary’s College, in Blackburn, where he completed his A-levels. A young man with a passion for music,

Lee lived with his mother and father, David and Pauline, and his brother, Martin (21), in Clitheroe. His heartbroken family were too distressed to speak to The Clitheroe Advertiser and Times this week. Leading the tributes to Lee, Mr Anthoiy

McNamara, headteacher at St Augustine’s in Billington, described him as a “lovely person”. He added: “He was a gentle and well-mannered pupil. He had an unblem ished record throughout his time with us and we were very fond of him. jyjy col leagues are deeply upset by this dreadful news. Our hearts go out to his family and his friends.” His form teacher throughout his time

at St Augustine’s, Mrs Toiii Hudson, the school’s Head of Music^ said: “Lee Bialecki was a mature, intelligent and unassuming young man. He had a wonderful sense of
