the name of the George and Dragon to The Assheton Arms, situated in the village of Downham, by Duttons’ Brewery. Lord Clitheroe, who owned , the building, consented to the change and since then not much has changed in the Assheton Arms, which dates from 1765 - apart from the licensees that is.
