A TAWNY owl stuck inside a disused water tank on the Coldwell Reservoil near Nelson, has been saved thanks td eagle-wed workmen.

|

the bird has just now been returned to ill natural habitat.

The drama happened in January anA 1

Contractors working for United Utiiil

Workmen had emptied the reservoir i l .

to wash down the reservoirs spillway, had been out of service for more than year! and were about to be bulldozed when thq alarm was raised.

The" huge water tanks; normally used 1

tanks had been decommissioned foroveij five-years, and we where about to bulldoze them when I spotted the owl standing on a little ledge at the bottom.
