The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences , on Skilden Beck in Bolton by Bowland between Skirden Bndge (NGR SD7S38149327) and high ground at the rear of electriaty substation (NGR 7839449604), a dis­ tance of 0.35 kilometres. .


The proposed improvement works will involve the fol- : lowing: the constniction of an earth embankment and small section of masoniy wall, maeasing the height by an average of 0.5m to reduce flood risk to the village- centre.


The Environment Agency considers that the improve­ ment works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them.
