T

o celebrate the launch of the Autumn/Winter 2009 fashion collections The Mali Blackburn

This look is ideal for women who love a smarter look, but team tailoring with this season's sheer and ruffle blouses to soften the look and add a feminine touch.

Beki wears River Island; Jacket £49.99, Jeans £24.99, Bag £34.99, Open Toe Shoe boots £79.99 Hannah wears Topshop; Jacket £125, T-Shirt £22, Scarf £16, leather look leggings £40, Shoes £65, leather Bag £55, Ring £12, Bracelet £10, Bangles £15

It's all about leather this season. To create this look you will need biker boots, a chunky belt, a pair of tights and most importantly of all, a leather biker jacket plus a lot of confidence and attitude!

Beki wears River island patterned lycra top £34.99, leggings £14.99, shoes £74.99 Hannah wears Debenhams; Black leggings £20 (Oasis) Red Herring top £22, Nine West shoes £70

Beki wears New Look; Jacket £25, floral top £12, Skirt £10, Leggings £8, Boots £20, Bag £15, bangles £8 Hannah wears Next; Check Dress £25, Brown Bag £20, Knee High Boots £80

This look is all about mixing fabrics and textures in an unexpected way. This trend is a follow on from the tribal trend that refuses to die. This is a melting pot of brilliant colourations, ornate embellishment, clashing prints and patterns.

This is a look that captures the ethnic traveller. It pays homage to nomadic tribes, medieval robing styles and modern day girly fashions.

This trend won't dominate the season as much as the 80s or Biker Chic trend but which will develop in time as individuals personalize it as they did with Boho. Mediaeval touches feature in this look and archaic styling that somehow looks fresh and interesting.

12 the Valley

Often perhaps unfairly referred to as "the decade that style forgot," the 1980s is back with a vengeance. If you're a Dynasty or Disco Diva, it's time to make space for the return of the time of excess. Yes, it's time to tune into the glamour of the Eighties from shoulders pads to ripped jeans. This time the look is all about garish, clashing prints, shiny fabrics, and an extra helping of attitude.

Shoulder Pads are everywhere at the moment, however if you are particularly broad shouldered, then you should steer clear of this look. Team Skinny Acid Washed / Ripped Jeans with big shoulders for the ultimate 80s silhouette. High Waists are back in skirts and trousers. This is a flattering shape to wear, which emphasises the waist and covers up any tummy bulges (unless you go for a super-tight option that is.)

Oversized t-shirts look great worn with leggings, miniskirts and ripped jeans for the ultimate 80s iook. Another very 80s look, the cropped tops are back but only wear these if you have a washboard stomach, otherwise layer the cropped top over a longer one, tucking the longer into your skirt or jeans for a retro twist to your normal outfit. To finish off this look excess amounts of jewellery, multiple bangles and necklaces are a must.

Beki wears Topshop; sequin jacket £75, Vest £12, Sequin leggings £45, Strappy shoe £65, quilted bag £25 and ring £12 Hannah wears New Look; Multi strip sequin top £22, Leggings £8, Black shoe boots £20

Metallics are coming back into fashion in a big way. Anything shiny, glittery, sequined or jewelled, in shades of gold, silver and even jewel tones, is on trend. Metallic fashions have come in and out of style for years and this season is no exception. Get trendy this season and glam it up a bit by adding shiny metallics to your wardrobe.

Coloured metallics are everywhere this

season. Wear a coloured metallic headband, bracelet or shoes if you're not confident enough to wear coloured metallic clothes.

For daytime looks tone down the shine by choosing small metallic accents. Remember that metallics - like whites or brights, draw attention to whatever body part you wear it on so make sure you are highlighting what you want to show off. Keep the metallic to the slimmest part of the body. The light reflection will grab attention. If you have a tiny waist, wear a metallic belt around it. Metallic miniskirts look great teamed with little vests if you have good legs.

Sometimes, less is more and the best way to integrate metallics into your wardrobe is with simple accessories such as shoes, necklaces and bags. Go for an eye catching pair of shoes that really stand out, especially when wearing a plain outfit.

The key piece, the 2009 biker jacket itself, has been revolutionised and feminised. Instead of chunky, stubborn jackets that sit out rigid from the body, this year's leather is super soft, and biker styles come zipped, studded, and silhouette-hugging, with a real body contouring, sexy feel. They come at all price points, from the high-end, coveted designer numbers to affordable high-street versions. Every celebrity is wearing a leather jacket! A good tip is to watch out for winning versions in PU, which is a synthetic product that can feel and look like genuine leather. Mix a leather jacket with a mini dress for the ultimate look.

There are also a lot of leather dresses available at the moment for those confident enough to wear leather head to toe.

This season, graphic houndstooth feels contemporary and offers a pleasing light relief in a season dominated by black. The focus is on classic tailored pieces with texture, traditional patterns and subtle colours. Just remember; This season's tweed pieces are tailor-made for the urban jungle rather than country dressing.

Wear sleek, curved, darted or seamed jackets that hug the body and team these with super pencil slim on the knee skirt styles. If you look better in a fuller skirt wear a shorter length jacket.
