Doves Volvo Blackburn, opened for business a couple of months ago in a newly-refurbished showroom on the Blackburn Motor Park site, alongside the newly-refurbished Fiat Dealership, at Copy Nook. The Doves name was chosen as the Group already run several other Volvo dealerships in the UK, who have always traded under the Doves brand name. The new Blackburn dealership is
able to cater for all the requirements of existing Volvo owners in the area, with a fully equipped Volvo service department, parts and accessories, and of course new and used Volvo car sales. The venture is headed up by Tony
Lowe, who will be known to a great many people in the area - he was managing director of the local BMW and MINI operation for more than 10 years, but is now glad to be back and operating locally within the car business once again, after a spell running his own company. Doves are also fortunate in having
been able to recruit some very capable people with considerable Volvo experience. Looking after front of house after
sales operations is Steve Waddington, with more than 30 years Volvo experience, whilst Volvo

master technician Kevin Copeland ensures all runs smoothly back of house where the real work goes on. Car sales are handled by three
very experienced guys - one of whom also has more than 20 years of experience with the brand. A great many people still perhaps
think of Volvo as a very safe motor car, but are perhaps not up to speed with the latest offerings - given the gap in local representation especially. Apparently, early visitors to the dealership were more than a little
