RENOWNED tour guide Simon Entwistle is disappointed th a t a sign advertising his famous ghost walks has been removed by the borough council. Mr Entwistle has been starting his ghost

walks from Clitheroe Castlegate for the past 14 years and has always had a sign advertising his walks at the entrance.; He erected a new and improved sign at

the Castlegate last week only to discover, a few days later, that it had been removed. “At first I thought it had been stolen,

but then found out it had been taken away on the orders of Ribble Valley Borough Council,” explained Mr.Entwistle. ‘-

‘I t

would have been nice to be informed.” He added: “I’ll be starting all the tours

from th e Swan and Royal Hotel in Clitheroe from now on and taking in other parts of the town such as King Street and Pimlico Road, which have many interest-

ingtales.” An unofficial ambassador for the Ribble

Valley, Mr Entwistle, who runs Top Hat Tours, was recently asked to promote the area at a major tourism event. A spokesman for Ribble Valley Borough
