becoming increasingly anxious for the welfare of “ Casper” as its age means he can die if not fed by his mother. Now Sue is offering a reward of

£500 for any information leading to the discovery of the missing pony. . Casper was kept with his moth

er, Echo, in a field in Hollins Farm, Clerk Hill Road, Sabden; He was discovered missing on Sat urday afternoon. “ I received a phone call from

my son’s girlfriend saying that Casper was missing,” explained Sue.' “We all searched the seven-acre

field and the neighbouring fields, but there was no sign of Casper. We initially thought he was hid ing, but when we failed to find him, we began getting worried and contacted the police immedi ately.” Sue added that Casper’s disap

age means he is dependent on his mother’s milk. I have contacted the National Foaling Bank to find out whether or not anyone had been in touch to buy some milk, but th ey ’ve said no one has approached them., - “ If anyone attempts to bottle-

feed Casper they will struggle because of his age. It’s a bit like ■ taking a newborn baby away from its mother and expecting it to sur- vive on hard-foods. ■ “There is no way Casper would

have escaped from the field because there are no skid marks and the farm is protected by a live electric fence. “We are becoming increasingly

worried as to where he is and want to reunite him with his heartbro ken mother.” Sgt Rob Evans, o f Clitheroe.

Police is investigating the theft. He said: “ This is a very serious theft £is the foal was dependent on its mother for food. “ I would urge any person who

has the animal or has any infor mation leading to its whereabouts to call Clitheroe Police on 01200 443344, or the free-and-confiden- ; tial Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.” Casper is described as white

with brown patterns. He has blue eyes and a distinct feature around his eyes similar to black eyeliner..
