A REGULAR family fun
■ night-at Glitheroe’s newest -venue. The Grand, is proving a huge success. ■ ' - More than 200 attended the
. second event last Friday, dou- : ble the attendance for the inau- ■ gural event. Parents joined their children in competitions and video games, as well as enjoying fresh food and Fair trade treats from The Grand Cafe.'.

: families to enjoy each other’s . company, and to sit and eat together while.having a great' time and a lot of fun. The highlight of the night

worked together in teams of up to six people. Ten teams in to ta l competed and the top three walked away with a Grand trophy and prizes spon sored by local businesses Let tuce Children’s Clothes Shop, Unique and Wooden Toy Shop and Precious Little Treasures.: Local electrical store Harry.

Montage tribute to a great village effort

fEVERY picture tells a story in a photo
- montage that records the building of Sab- den’s bowling club, pavilion - and cele- - brates the commit ment of -villagers and supporters who gave ;,
their time to build it. - The mounted and. framed display charts; the progress of the proj ect from i ts s ta r t in October, 1993, until completion-about 18 months later, and fea tures many of the vol unteers who helped. The montage was
compiled by former club se c re ta ry . David Beesley, who presented it to the club along with another framed record of village fund-raising campaigns tha t helped finance the building.
_. He has dedicated the photo-montage to Peter Lambert who died 12 months ago and who gave a lot of his time to building the clubhouse. He was also a keen
