‘crib figures’ which travel around the parish, finding a- different home‘to rest’ each night, . on their journey to Bethlehem. Church members who play host to ■ the couple receive . the figures from ■ the previous host . with a short greet
ing ceremony and... prayer. .
, On Christmas
Eve the last host family will bring ' the figures back to church, from ■ where their jour ney began on Advent Sunday.. Our photograph ' shows the Posada figures and other preparations for the Crib Service. The figures will then be placed in
. the Church’s Crib; and the nativity play will link all ■ the threads •,
• together, as we . prepare for the
"real Christmas- the coming of
, Jesus to the world. The offertory taken at the serv ice will go to th e . Derian House ■ Children’s Hos pice.
• The nativity
workshop begins at 3-30 p.m. in Church on Christ mas Eve. Parents can leave their. children and return to church in time for the serv ice at 5-30 p.m. A parent would need to stay with any child under five. If your child
would like to take
