PUPILS of Waddinglon and West Bradford CE School in li)2G can be seen with teacher Miss Ashton. Many of the pupds continued to live in Waddinglon when they grew a little older. The photograph was brought in by Mr Bill Bootliman who was born and bred in Waddington and still lives in the village. He can be seen on the middle ron, third from right. Mr Booliiman has traced his familv as they lived in


Waddington from the IGlOs.Next to him on the right is Billy Robinson, who was captured by the Japan­ ese in Singapore and worked on the Burmese railway, and who sadly died out there.


Another boy, Fred Brown grew up to own a garage in Waddin'glon, he is on (he top row, third from (he left. Frank Smalley, fourth from the right on the lop row, was a builder in West Bradford and John


Y liallcy, second from him on the right, was killed while (raining to fly Spitfires in Australia during the Second World War. His family were builders in Waddinglon. On the front row, third from the right, is Florence Greenhaigh, whose father developed the iVIoorcock Inn from a small farmliousc to a public house. She is wearing clogs as many of (he children did.
