ONE of Rimington’s most prestigious properties could be razed to the ground. And th e imposing detached Denisfield
dwelling which was last on the market for a price believed to be in the region of £lm. in 2005, could be replaced with a new house incorporating the listed facade of a two-storey classical villa from Merseyside. A planning ap p lic a tio n to c o n s tru c t a
replacement property in the desirable village has been submitted to Ribble Valley Borough Council. If given the go-ahead the proposal would
see Denisfield demolished and replaced \vith a house which would include the reconstructed front elevation of Sandown Hall. ■ Constructed in 1810, the hall was originally
located close to the village of Wavertree. I t has been described as a “two-storey classical villa” with a front elevation consisting of five bays and with a feature porch supported on paired columns. After listed building consent was granted
for the demolition of the building in 2000, it was decided th at the facade could be disman tled and reconstructed elsewhere. Individual stones were then numbered and many of its architecturally important features stored in Grappenhall near Warrington. In a statement sent to the council to accom
pany the plans, the applicants’ agents, Hayes and Partners, of Macclesfield, say there are similarities between the villa’s original setting and Denisfield, “namely th at of an individual house w th gardens surrounded by open coun tryside”. The letter adds: “Some modification to the
proportions of the facade have been made in the design of the new dwelling but the key fea tures are all retained and the prospect of cre ating a fine new house set within landscaped gardens give the opportunity to save the key historic features from what was considered to

the trip to Twickenham, to watch James take his place in front of the England team captain during the national anthem. "I am so excited to be leading the England team
out on to the field on Saturday. I feel very hon oured. I am such a fan and watched their great win against Scotland this weekend, “I hoped th a t I might be their lucky mascot for
