Prayer sessions in nationwide tour!
by Vivien Meath
A NATIONAL prayer event reaches Clitheroe this weekend. Pray Without Ceasing is an initia

August 31st, 2006, the Methodist Church across the length and breadth of the country, including Scotland and Wales has been cele brating Pray Without Ceasing. During each day of that period, in
one Methodist Circuit or another there is taking place 24 hours of con tinuous prayer. This event reaches the Clitheroe
Methodist Circuit on Thursday noon and concludes at noon on Fri day. Grindleton Methodist Chuch on
Chapel Lane will be open for contin-. uous prayer during that 24 hours. Prayer takes all different forms and so there MU be a prayer room which will be decorated and laid out for people to have stimulus for prayer including maps and globes, world issues, music, candles and other reflective forms to enable us to pray. There will be all sorts of aids and
opportunities to experience new forms of prayer and new ways of praying. There will be a prayer book, a
graffiti wall, and a whole range of different possibilities for people to

This is a walk through meditative experience where you will walk as Jesus did those last miles and at each stage there will be different aspects to focus on and to pray on as you walk the journey of the last week of our Lord's life. At all times throughout the day
and night the church will also be open for quiet prayer and people can sit in the churchyard if the weather is fine enough, looking across the valley to pray. This event is open to anyone from
any denomination to drop in and experience something new about the power and the resources for prayer. There will be a warm welcome and refreshments.

You will have to be careful about what you say In order to avoid fiery disagreements, as this is an explosive time when even a small conflict can lead to an all out war. You may feel fed up, angry, filled with resentment or allow others to provoke you into a senseless argument. Try to keep your cool in the days ahead; also avoid bad neighbourhoods and difficult people.

He used a pair of binoculars to shine
