Concerns over Christmas lights
IN Clitheroe thoughts are already turn ing to Christmas! Although the festive season is still seven
months away, members of the Decorative Clitheroe Committee have started to plan ahead. One of the committee’s main jobs is to
organise the town centre display of Christmas trees and lights. However, this year members face a
problem. The contractor who currently carries out ail the work plans to retire and a
replacement is needed as a matter of urgency. ■ As well as purchasing around 100 fes
tive firs, fitting the low voltage net lights and putting the trees up, the work also involves arranging other motifs and a large lantern at selected sites around Clitheroe, as well as removing and storing everything in the new year. , A couple of expressions of interest in
the work have now been received and a meeting of the committee will take place soon to discuss the situation.
