You will have real enthusiasm and commitment to playing with children, making learning fun and involving parents. Using story teiling and games you will help children develop language and communication skills and help parents develop their skills and confidence in playing with and talking to their children.
This post will help SureStart Brierfield & Walverden carry out an action research project on supporting pre-school children and their parents with language development, working particularly with families where English is not the home language. This will involve leading regular group sessions, following a planned programme of stories and activities.
With a relevant qualification or with plenty of practical experience and a good understanding of children's development, you will have direct experience of working with children aged 18 months to 4 years, along with a real flair for engaging parents and children in fun and creative activities. You will need to be fluent in English and Punjabi. Urdu would be advantageous. Ref No: 639-SSBW-2-57.
