dominated by a large curved glass screen and some very large light clusters. The chunky utility styling gives the Picanto a substantial look that is a welcome relief compared with some of the rather insubstantial looking rivals in its class. Front head room is an impressive 1,003mm up


front and 996mm in the rear, which means that there is ample space for taller driv­ ers. Front leg room is also very good. Shoulder room is very good front and rear, although this is a car that you may not want to travel in five up. With 19 storage areas dotted about the cabin, Kia has done its


homework when it comes tc sheer utility. Although 65 b.h.p. may


not sound a whole hill ol beans, it is a fair amount foi a small car and is enough tc give the 1.1-litre Picanto e modest turn of speed. It wil. get to 60 m.p.h. in 15.1 sec­ onds and run on to a top speed of 96 m.p.h.
