The right candidate must have the ability to work on all stages of design, from initial concept, copy writing of headlines and body copy to fully finished pre-press artwork; possess solid Apple Mac skills in Quark Express, Illustrator and Photoshop, and a knowledge of P C ’s would be advantageous.


The requirements for this role are:


• A proven track record in design, ideally within a newspaper or magazine environment


• Strong communication skills


• The experience of successfully driving and motivating themselves


• The ability to liaise at all levels • A sound understanding of design, print and production • A minimum of two years experience in design


• A portfolio of designs/prints created whilst in employment (designs produced for college or university are not acceptable)
