RUMOURS that Salford Post Office in Whalley Road, Clitheroe, may be facing clo sure were circulating this
week. When the rumours came to
light, the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times contac ted Royal Mail. A spokesman for the company
was not able to confirm or deny the rumour, but said: “At the moment we can confirm that a meeting will be held later this week to decide the future of cer tain post offices throughout the Ribble 'Valley. Earlier this week, Ribble Val

Post offices to close?

Club night for young people
A SECOND club night for local young people will be held a t Rendezvous in "Whalley tomorrow in conjunction with Whalley police. Aimed at 11-to- 16-year-olds-
the event will s ta r t a t 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and cost £2.50 on the door. D J Keith Boden will play
funky house, dance, R'n’B and party anthems. Although tickets will not be
needed, there will be s t r ic t guidelines at the door, includ ing a zero tolerance on alcohol consumption prior to entering the club and thereafter. The dress code is casual, ivith trainers and jeans acceptable.
