Damp end to season
CHATBURN seconds’ sea son was brought to a pre mature halt by the weather on Saturday. Rain washed out their
final match against Keigh ley Technical College. Keighley had batted first
and amassed 211-9 in the alloted overs. In difficult conditions,
Chatburn struggled in the field and the bowling, at times, was quite poor. Steven Braith waite (3-
63) was the pick of the bowlers, and the other wicket-takers were Russell Braithwaite (1-63), John Reynolds (2-44) and Chris Waddington (1-27). Chatburn had reached
49-2 in reply, when, in the 10th over, persistent rain caused the match to be abandoned. The result meant Chat-
bum finished fourth in the league - an excellent per formance.
