Dawn (15) cooks her way to area’s Young Chef of the Year title


THERE was no drama and cer­ tainly nothing remotely like a crisis when four aspiring young chefs cooked against the clock at Bowland High School.


: In an atmosphere of calm and oozing confidence, Sarah Holt (14), Dawn Hollings (15), Debbie Scott (15) and James Leach (14) prepared


a two-course meal for two in just one hour and 15 minutes. The four were competing in the


Young Chef of the Year area competi­ tion, organised by the Rotary Club of Clitheroe. Under the scrutiny of the judges,


former hoteliers Mr Malcolm Weav­ ing, Mr Peter Spencer and Clitheroe Advertiser and Times news editor Mrs Vivien Meath, the competitors chopped, stirred and cooked their ingredients to create an amazing array


of mouthwatering dishes. The winner was the school's deputy
