Executive Council since 1989, is an ex-area chairman of Oxford and who, after a recent: move north, currently holds two positions on the North Yorkshire and South Durham
Area Committee. The chairman’s next task was to mark
the passing of Mr Frank Parrott, a founder member in 1969. During 33 years of devot ed service, eight as chairman, Frank became a capable and influential mainstay of the group. Also during the year Mr Alan Grooby met an untimely death arid both of
them are sadly missed. Prior to the meeting all reports had been
circulated, so it . came as no surprise when Mr Whitehead announced his intention to stand

Ray Barker and his wife Amanda, who run Castle Miniatures in Moor Lane, and who want to attract Christmas visitors to the town by starting a regular, fun event. Mr Barker said: "We are
saying to people, come to Clitheroe for a Christmas Market, instead of going to the Trafford Centre, or somewhere like that." They have organised the
event with the help of one or two colleagues, plus Mr Frank Watson, the market's manager and Mr James Russell, the council's envi ronmental health manager. The fair will be held on
between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., and along with craft stalls
