Disappointing night at the camera club

THE latest meeting of Ribblesdale Camera Club was described as slightly disappointing. After a run of excel

lent speakers and folios, the slides presented appeared to be copies and of insufficient tech nical quality to reinforce

the message. However, the recorded

lecture was clear and the points made about the

quality of light were well presented. The club's website,

designed by treasurer Mr Raymond Green wood, is developing rapidly and is easily reached by searching for Ribble Valley, which leads quickly to the excellent tourism site.

night and have done before and since, our pre vious equipment was more than adequate - but this gift by the Dixons takes us into a new league," says Clitheroe's Station Offi cer Dave McGrath.

Working Together For Lancashires' Children

A STAFF baby day at Pendle Primary School, Clitheroe, pro vided more than a little wonder

for the pupils. Four staff members arrived at

assembly and spent time explain ing the complexities of baby care

with pupils. Taking their babies to school

were Mrs Joanne Schofield with Alice (22 months), Mrs Helen Eddleston with Nicholas (15 months), Mrs Veronica Tobin with Olivia (3 months) and Mrs Clare

Atkinson with Grace (9 months). For Olivia it was not her first visit with mum. She became the youngest

child ever taken into the school when

she was only one day old. Headteacher Mrs Margaret Car

rington said that all 300 pupils were enthralled to listen to the staff and wanted to know what they had to do

to look after the babies. She said : "They asked lots of ques

tions about the age difference of the babies, their needs, growth, teeth, diets, sleep and what they can and

can't do." Our picture shows, from the left,
