NEW YORK'S finest choreographer and her dance company will be putting th e ir best fe e t forward for their only performance in the
North-West,
part of a jazz trilogy which expresses Trisha Brown's love for music.
"Five Part Weather Invention" is th e first _
. In the piece, which is a collaboration with
New York a r t is t Terry Winters and jazz musi cian Dave Douglas, the dancers become part of the music's fre e form as they follow the
ups, downs, dips and slides. In the second part of the programme the
company presents "Twelve Ton Rose , one of its signature pieces which is set to music from Anton Werbern's Opus Nos. 5 and 28. "Rapture to Leon James", th e second part of
the new trilogy, is set to an original piece by Dave Douglas and ta k e s a look a t the African-
American social dancing of th e 1930s. Trisha Brown's work has been performed
throughout America, Australia, Canada and across Europe. She returns to Blackpool four
