MY FAVOURITE FILM by the Rev. Quentin Wilson

What is your fa vo u r ite film of a l l

time? "The Titfield Thunderbolt" which was pro

duced in the late '50s or early '60s.

Why do you like it so much? The film is about a small English community

which is threatened with the closure of its rail way line. It portrays the traditional attitude to authority that we have lost since then.

When did you first se e the film? I first saw it as a child probably around the late '50s or early '60s.

What is your favourite part of the film? The final scene shows Alistair Simms, who

plays a retired bishop, and the local vicar stok ing up an improbable steam train and Alistair Simms is looking as wildly enthusiastic as only

he can.

® The Rev. Quentin Wilson is the rector of S t Peter's Church, Burnley

Who is your favourite actor/actress? Sir Alec Guinness

There’s Something About Mary, Sky Premier, 8.00pm. Premiere. Hit bad-taste comedy, starring Cameron Diaz, Ben Stiller, Matt Dillon and Lee Evans. Directed by Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly.
