Forecast Performance for 1999-2000 v
Forecasting performance isextremely problematic, and invariably inaccurate, this is compounded byi the length of the forward projection. Attempting to forecast a number of months into the future in an environment, which contains numerous factors: beyond one's control, is fraught with danger. However, indications are that our final performance for the policing year 1999/2000 will be:-
Comments
La st ye ar c rim e reduction improved in the la tte r half of the year.
i
La st ye a r d iso rd e r and anti-social behaviour incidents w e re reduced in the la tter half of th e year.
T h e la tte r half of the ye a r contains the w o r s t w e a th e r months and the cu r re n t reduction is unlikely to be sustained.
T h e baseline figure used fo r compar ison, conducted in Feb rua ry 1999, is 60%. Performance is unlikely to change significantly.
