experience in water colour painting. It is aimed to provide over three terms, competence and


confidence in handling the medium. It is advisable tor a beginner to start the course in September. Students with some water colour experience may join the course in the 2nd and 3rd terms subject lo availability ol places.

The course will cover tasting and selecting of wines and then comparing and identifying the different grape varieties. The second halt ol the course will move on to taste and discuss wines from France. Spain and Portugal. Italy and the New World le Australia. New Zealand. Chile and South Africa.

SUGARCRAFT (BEGINNERS AND IMPROVERS) WHALLEY. WEDNESDAY 7.15 p.m..


SPIRITUALIST CHURCH, CLITHEROE, THURSDAY 10 a.m. How to moke basic Mowers, plaques and ornaments, step by step. I hope that the course will give students the confidence to make their own cake decorations for family celebration cakes i.e. Christmas birthdays etc. The students will be able lo do more intricate decorations i.e. wedding cakes if they are interested and keen


enough.


MATERIALS A small rolling pin. a small quantity ol cornflour, any cutlers you may have, a child's paintbrush, any lood colourings, a small container lor paste, a piece ol clinglilm and two pieces ol kitchen roll. An egg and container tor egg. Paste can be purchased on the night (Approx. Cl lor 4oz.) Please do not go out and buy equipment which we may never use. Container to carry limshed items home in.


CAKE DECORATION WHALLEY, TUESDAY 7.15 p.m.


How to decorate a special cake with a protessional finish using royal or londant icing. Students will learn by demonstration.
