CLITHEROE and District Trefoil Guild gave their annual Christmas party for 18 elderly ladies, taking them by car to Waddow Hall, where they were welcomed by chair man Mrs Elsie Honeywell. After games and carols,

FOR failing to pay national insurance contributions as a self-employed property repairer, John Brunker, of Nelson Street, Low Moor, was fined £10 by Clitheroe magistrates. He was also ordered to pay arrears of £86.76. In a le t te r he explained that he had been unemployed and consequently unable to keep up various payments.

SORGPTIMISTS’ BUSY WEEK
LAST WEEK was a busy one for members of the Clitheroe Soroptimist Club. It began with a special International Day Service at St Leonard’s Church, Langho, conducted by the Rev. P. H. Dearden.

RIBBLESDALE School's Christmas fair made a profit of £185 on Friday — and the generosity of school parents was the decisive factor in its success.
