THE youngsters of Sawley began Christmas celebrations with their annual.party at the village primary school. About 30 children attended the party, which was organised by the ladies of Sawlcy WI. After tea Father Christmas' dropped in to distribute presents. Games were organised for the tiny tots by Mrs Irene Jackson, and for the older children by Mrs Vera Giles. Winners were: Charlotte Porter (musical mats); Susan and Ian Giles (photo quiz); Andrew Pickering and Karen Burgess (mystery bags). /


Young people among donors


MORE than 160 people gave blood when the National Transfusion Service Unit, from Lancaster paid its final visit of the year to Clitheroe. * Under the direction of Dr


Peter Bracewell,. the unit received 85 volunteer donors in the morning and . 93 after lunch, but 12 were unable to give.blood for minor reasons.. The organisers were par-'
