sometimes it’s quiet, steady, and kind. I never believe I’m finished growing. I choose purpose over fear and compassion over comfort. Learning has always been my way forward and it still is.”

MONGOLIA CALLING Her passion for adventures on the water, in her aptly named Boudicca canoe, introduced an opportunity to join a month-long expedition to Mongolia in 2025. Journeying rarely-visited rivers with a small British team and encountering the indigenous communities and landscapes along the way, was so transformative that Rose was compelled to write a book, Life Map To Mongolia. “It tested every part of me, physically and mentally” she recounts. I’ve read it. It’s less than seventy pages and it’s raw, it tugs at your heart, punches you in the gut and slaps you about the face. Most of all, without being preachy, it really does make you want to get up and ‘do’ something meaningful, for you, and to ‘find your tribe’ and surround yourself with less toxicity.

SISTERS, DO IT FOR YOURSELVES 2026 sees Rose, now 38, set herself some new challenges. “Earlier this year, I became an inventor” she giggles, referring to her brilliant Wye Knot Soap Bands; chemical free, non-polluting soap that can be worn around your wrist when out in the wilds where a natural river/stream/pool may be your only way to wash, or just generally really. Ingenious! “My Patent is pending and I’m thinking of applying for Dragon’s Den” she enthuses.

Furthermore, “I’m reclaiming the dreams I didn’t get the chance to live as a child. Gymnastics was something I always longed for, but lessons and training were never an option back then. As an adult, I decided it wasn’t too late. I trained hard, entered the Adult British Gymnastics Championships, and placed 7th out of 30! This year I’m going for gold. I’m fully in training mood and nothing is stopping me.” Yes, her energy knows no bounds.

This firecracker sparkles on “The world owes me nothing and I owe it everything. Every day I wake up feeling grateful, excited and ready for what lies ahead. People often ask me where my passion comes from, and the truth is, I don’t fully know. There’s just something burning inside me, a deep sense that time matters, it’s the most precious thing we have and I refuse to waste it.”

You can meet Rose at International Women's Day 2026: Standing Our Ground. Saturday 7 March 11.00am – 1.30pm, The Kindle Centre, Hereford. Free Tickets at www.tickettailor.com/events/westmerciawomensaid

Her book is available to buy on www.wyeknotcommunity.com/about-4 and The Courtyard bookshop in Hereford.
