was aptly timed. There is something so important about walking through a designed space, rather than just seeing it in print or online. Not only is it transportive, it shows you how to create rooms and inspires you with original design ideas. You learn about colour, pattern, space, lighting and floor plans – how to integrate details such as art into a room. What was achieved by the designers and generous sponsors was simply remarkable, and we were delighted that thousands flocked to see it. More than a design resource, the Design Centre is a thriving platform, both creatively and commercially,


for an exceptionally dynamic industry. This year will see more exhibitions in the Design Avenue, and more curated events that will enhance the annual programme. A world of exciting design awaits and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have a front-row seat.


here’s a fascinating synchronicity that occurs in design. This kind of serendipity is intriguing, and it has prompted me to pay attention to the meaning of home. Our homes tell stories about us.
