THE JOURNAL
▲ DAVID HUNT LIGHTING’s playful spun-metal ‘Scallop’ pendant features a hand-painted wavy line that creates a two-tone effect. Creative director Hollie Moreland has devised a series of gorgeous colour combinations for it, but a bespoke paint service is available.
▼ The epitome of ‘new traditional’ decorating, DAVID SEYFRIED LTD’s ‘Portobello’ chair features bobbin arms and legs and a deep comfortable seat. It was designed in collaboration with Gabby Deeming and is shown upholstered in ‘Rimski’ fabric by Décors Barbares, available from Tissus d’Hélène.
▲ Louis Barthélemy, an artist and illustrator based between Cairo and Paris, was asked by PIERRE FREY to contribute a Nile-themed artwork to its Merveilles d’Égypte collection: the result is this wildlife-rich ‘La Faune et La Flore’ panoramic wallcovering, a vibrant contemporary take on ancient Egyptian art.
▼ English chintzes never date, and JEAN MONRO’s hand-blocked designs have a rich heritage: this ‘Autumn Roses’ fabric in a zingy lime green is a reissue of a classic Victorian pattern that was last produced in 1979, with hydrangeas, morning glory and primulas weaving among the roses.
▲ Digital printing brings the detail to life of this vivacious ‘Kyllikki’ cotton satin from DEDAR; its painterly stylised flowers and bold scale reflect the creative confidence of today’s interiors.
◄ ALTFIELD is celebrated for its stable of international brands, including the Miami-based Texture Fabrics Inc., known for its large-scale designs and great way with colour. In rich peacock hues of blue and green, this Indian-made ‘Tasmania’ embroidered tape complements its rich portfolio of fabrics.
