McKeevers Marathon
As we go to print, colleagues from McKeevers Chemists will be taking part in this year’s Belfast City Marathon. Staff from both the branches and head office are coming together to take on the mammoth task as part of two dedicated relay teams.
They will be running to support Evora Hospice, the pharmacy group’s chosen charity, who offer vital services for those facing some of life’s most challenging moments.
The team said taking part will be much more than just a personal achievement. Supporting Evora Hospice will give each mile a deeper purpose knowing the effort, training and teamwork will help raise funds and awareness for such an incredible charity.
Those taking part include... Linda from the HR team
“I have had close family and friends who have needed the services of the hospice and have witnessed the impact of the hospice. The hospice plays a vital role within our local community and I am proud to be able to play a small part in helping with its fundraising efforts.”
Ashley from the marketing team
“I am taking on a personal challenge and running my first 4.2 mile leg of the marathon - and I am not a runner. I am super excited to push myself out of my comfort zone, while supporting Evora Hospice. Every mile I run is a mile for an amazing cause.”
Directors Paul and Helen McKeever
“As we mark 25 years of McKeevers, we’re stepping out of our comfort zones, challenging ourselves and raising vital funds to help ensure Evora Hospice can continue providing compassionate care and support when it’s needed most.”
Orla, buyer for the group
“This is a great opportunity to come together with others, challenge myself and support a cause that matters.”
Aine, pharmacist
“I signed up to be part of something bigger than myself. Running the five mile relay leg is a personal challenge. Training to build up for the distance will be tough, but knowing it’s for such a meaningful cause makes every mile worth it.”
Daniel, dispenser
A competitive triathlete, Daniel is aiming to break his 5K personal best and finish strong when he takes part.
