Margaret Doyle, MediCare Pharmacy (Medichem), Dungannon


Margaret has been a familiar face at MediCare Pharmacy’s Dungannon branch for almost 40 years now. Her compassion and commitment to patient care is truly unmatched.


Known for her warm smile and friendly nature, Margaret always makes time for customers, ensuring everyone who visits the pharmacy feels welcomed, listened to, and supported. Her positivity is infectious, with customers often leaving the pharmacy smiling and laughing after a chat with her.

Mark McGowan, Medicare Pharmacy (Fitzroy)


Another MediCare Pharmacy employee to take home the Community Pharmacy Service Award was Mark McGowan. Mark has been the cornerstone of MediCare Pharmacy (Fitzroy) for over 20 years. During this time he has demonstrated unwavering dedication to both his pharmacy team and the local community.


As pharmacy manager, Mark has led innovative services at the branch including travel clinics and vaccination programs. He also set up collaborative clinics with the local GP practice, long before the introduction of Federation Pharmacist roles.


Mark has supported many young and aspiring pharmacists over the years. He has been instrumental in delivering intern pharmacist training and mentoring foundation trainee pharmacists and placement students, several of who have continued their careers at MediCare Pharmacy Group.


He is highly regarded by his colleagues and has fostered a culture of professionalism, teamwork and ongoing learning, ensuring every team member feels both supported and empowered. He is equally loved by patients for his approachable, compassionate care, providing tailored support for long term conditions and everyday health concerns.


Beyond the pharmacy, Mark has built strong relationships with local community groups, including the Chinese Welfare Association, reinforcing MediCare Pharmacy (Fitzroy) role as a trusted community hub.

Sharon Warnock, Bradleys Pharmacy, Newbuildings.


For over 27 years, Sharon has been an integral part of Bradleys Pharmacy and the wider community in Newbuildings. She is well known in the area for going above and beyond for her patients, be it hand delivering medication to a housebound patient after work or going out of her way to ensure patients don’t forget to pick up their medication..


“Sharon was fantastic during the pandemic, working over and above to ensure the local community had their medication during such a stressful time. She always helps out if cover is needed and no task is too much when it comes to providing a caring approach to patients in Newbuildings,” said Joseph McQuaid who nominated Sharon.


As well as providing invaluable support to patients, Sharon continues to support new staff and pharmacist trainees and is in regular communication with local surgeries to deal with patient prescription queries.


“She is an important part of the team and community and is thoroughly deserving of recognition,” said Joseph.
