Rose Court Housing for Older People
Celestial lighting at Rose Court, on the leisure peninsula of the North!
Rose Court in Birkenhead boasts 66 flats and cottages providing high-quality housing for older people. Built in 1984 and managed by Sanctuary Housing, Rose Court sheltered accommodation offers guest facilities, communal lounges and gardens as well as one to three bedroom living spaces. DJH Electrical upgraded the traditional lighting to new cost-effective LED luminaires from Luceco as well as and installing charging points for mobility scooters during a recent refurbishment.
The exterior lighting design included the Guardian Pro, a 4000k symmetric flood and Sloane from Kingfisher Lighting, a post top spherical luminaire used in the car park and two amenity quadrangles. Perimeter and entrance lighting arrangements were provided with the Fortis Wallpack, a die-cast aluminium bodied IP65 luminaire designed to replace 70W Son lamped fittings. Options include 1500-3500 Lumens with 6-1 space to height ratio and a hinged gear tray for ease of installation.
Communal lounges and dining areas were lit with Celeste, an attractive circular LED luminaire featuring a ‘corona’ backlight effect with a direct / indirect
light distribution. Various décor options are available, polished chrome bezels were chosen at Rose Court, many luminaires with the emergency lighting included into the primary lighting along with microwave sensors with standby 10% corridor function. Dimmable 600 x 600 mm recessed LuxPanel luminaires were also fitted with 10% corridor function and used in circulation and corridors.
Finally, stairs and stairwells were lit with Atlas. This decorative bulkhead is suitable for internal or external environments and has a range of optional stylish decors and a recessing bracket for semi-recessed applications. Atlas is ideal for communal areas with its vandal
