Applications


LG2 reviews a wide range of interior and exterior applications, each will have various light level requirements and regulations to meet. Below we take a look at some of the more common applications. Areas such as operating theatres and specialist diagnosis require very specific illumination and are not covered in this general overview.


Entrance


The canopy leading to the main foyer should be around 75 to 100 lux and stand out visually with the foyer lit to approx. 200 lux. While the space needs to be welcoming, it is also a high transit area and the lighting needs to reflect the needs of the occupants helping them transit a space potentially unknown to them. Daylight should be employed wherever possible helping to provide an airy yet comfortable space.
